Accounting Assistant Role

Summary
The Accounting Assistant will be responsible for the performance of a variety of duties from backroom calculations to front desk customer service. Responsibilities will include posting the day's receipts, filing and tallying deposits, coding, totaling, batching, entering, verifying and reconciling transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements. Other responsibilities will include the compilation of budget data and documents based on estimated revenues, expenses and previous budgets, and the performance of related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.

Job Duties
- Audits accounts to make sure that payments are timely, computes interest charges and codes documents.
- Checks other people's work to make sure that their final figures are correct, noting errors and the causes of any miscalculations.
- Utilizes computer systems to run databases, pay bills and order supplies.
- Provides customer service, accepting payments or providing refunds.
- Contacts customers with delinquent accounts.
- Calculates, prepares and issues documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory reports, account statements and other financial statements.
- Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as accounts payable and receivable, payroll, purchase orders, cheques, invoices, cheque requisitions, and bank statements.
- Compiles budget data and documents based on estimated revenues and expenses and previous budgets.
- Prepares period or cost statements or reports.
- Responds to customer inquiries, maintains good customer relations and solves problems.
- Performs related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, faxing and photocopying.
- Stay current with all regulations, practices, tax laws, reporting requirements and industry trends.
- Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Accounting required (diploma or degree an asset)
- Minimum 5 years working experience in accounting required
- Knowledge of accepted accounting rules, practices, tax laws, and reporting requirements
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Computer literate, including effective working skills of QuickBooks, MS Word, Excel and e-mail
- Ability to adapt to and learn new software
- Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently
- High level of critical and logical thinking, analysis, and/or reasoning to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts
- Able to work well under pressure and meet set deadlines

Experienced Project Manager
We have an exciting opportunity in our Edmonton office for an experienced Project Manager. Your primary mandate will be to take possession of industrial projects from the design team and coordinate all aspects of the project up to the final commissioning phase.
Working on a variety of projects, your responsibilities will include:
- Plan, organize, prioritize, direct and control multiple industrial projects while meeting deadlines.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of project budget estimates.
- Project execution, delivering on-time, within budget and to the required quality.
- Provide input and support to other departments.
- Under general supervision, review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, regulatory codes, regulations and related permitting.
- Plan and prepare project schedules, milestones and monitor progress.
- Coordinate and assist in the installation phase of multiple projects.
- Assist in the preparation of contracts and negotiation of revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements.
- Prepare interim and completion project reports, including project documentation.
- Assist in establishing and implementing policies and procedures for quality control.
- Select subcontractors; co-ordinate and monitor their activities.
- Monitor project activities and provide timely updates to the management team.
- Coordinate the purchase of project materials.
- Work directly with equipment manufacturers to obtain technical information, costing, and special requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Experience in project coordination including civil, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Technical education and background preferred; equivalent will be considered.
- The ability to understand, implement and practice the principals of project coordination.
- Superior organizational skills, a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a busy team.
- Better than average computer skills, especially MS Projects software.
- Working knowledge of drafting principals using computer aided drafting tools an asset.
- Willing to learn, and work continuously to develop technical and leadership capabilities.

Millwright
We currently have a position available for a Millwright for the installation and service of fuel and lubrication equipment to support our many customers. This position requires someone with a broad range of mechanical and low voltage electrical experience, proven ability to operate independently and good computer skills. Fireball Equipment is willing to train the right person.
Working on a variety of customer equipment, your responsibilities will include:
- Perform and document regular maintenance checks of customer equipment
- Perform and document equipment maintenance and repair work
- Interpret work orders and technical manuals
- Keep equipment clean, lubricated and maintained
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the work done meets manufacturers' specifications and legislative regulations
- Write service reports
- Follow codes, regulations and accepted safety practices
- Handle and distribute construction materials (load and unload vehicles with supplies, equipment and construction materials; move tools, equipment and construction materials to and from work areas; remove rubble and other debris)
- Join pipe sections and related equipment, and secure in position
- Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks
- 80% of repair work will be mechanical in nature, 20% control systems (FuelMaster, PLC, etc.)
The ideal candidate should possess (Fireball Equipment is willing to train the right person):
- Experience in trouble-shooting fuel and lubrication equipment malfunctions
- Low voltage electrical experience
- Operate independently

Technical Sales Representative
We have an exciting opportunity in our Edmonton office for a Technical Sales Representative. Your primary mandate will be to determine the customer’s requirements for fuel and lubrication systems and provide solutions.
Working with a variety of customers, your responsibilities will include:
- Discuss with the customer their specifications for fuel and lubrication systems.
- Research solutions for the customer’s requirements.
- Communicate ideas with the customer.
- Present a detailed quote to the customer.
- Have continuous communications with the customer to finalize the quote.
- Assist in the preparation of project budget estimates.
- Participate in Kick-off, Progress, and Close-out project meetings.
- Provide input and support to other departments.
- Under general supervision, assist in the review project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, regulatory codes, regulations and related permitting.
- Assist in the preparation of contracts and negotiation of revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements.
- Monitor project activities and provide timely updates to the customer.
- Work directly with equipment manufacturers to obtain technical information, costing, and special requirements.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- The ability to research, understand and present technical specifications to the customer.
- Technical education and background an asset. C.E.T.’s, engineers, technical school grads, etc. encouraged to apply.
- Superior organizational skills, a self-starter who can work independently and as part of a busy team.
- Better than average computer skills, especially the ability to learn Fireball’s software programs.
- Willing to learn, and work continuously to develop technical capabilities.
- Some flexibility to travel to a customer’s site or office for meetings (i.e. Fort McMurray, Calgary). Fireball Equipment pays for all authorized travel expenses.
